Once more, I repeat, they never
played Wuxtry in Athens, everyone who has visited can see how small the store
was in 1980. They played at the Wuxtry in Atlanta, the night before they were
to play at their first out of town gig at a venue called The Warehouse. They
were nervous, and they thought they needed to get in a little practice. I have
verified with the owner of the only recording
of the Wuxtry gig, on videotape no less, that the recording going around of
the "alleged" Wuxtry show is not from his tape, the songs and the order are
wrong.
We believe that that recording is from 4 Track demos/practices made when they
rehearsed in the practice space on Jackson Street, the current location of the
store known as Frontier. They were put on a cassette and mailed to a record
store in Florida, I believe, called Murmurs records and were made by some guys
who worked at the Wuxtry, probably the source of the confusion.
